As we all know, Monday night was the 58th Grammy Awards where the Red Carpet becomes a stage, of sorts, for the musicians in attendance. Usually a platform for designers to showcase the craziest designs they have in their collection, the Grammys red carpet has been known to create a fashion buzz (different from a Golden Globe or Academy Award red carpet moment).
We had J. Lo and that green silk chiffon Versace in 2000, Beyonce in the white mesh Michael Costello in 2014, Toni Braxton in 2001, Celine Dion in 1993, Lady Gaga and... well... everything she has ever worn on the Grammys red carpet!

Aside from the latter, it seemed that most artists and their dates opted for the classic head-to-toe black ensembles with a few dressed in muted colors. It may be that artists chose the non-ostentatious route to pay their respects for the very recently departed Natalie Cole, David Bowie and Maurice White.
Still fairly avant-garde, here are my top choices for the chicest black ensembles.
